During coverage of Rather's interview with Saddam Hussein, many people e-mailed us, mistakenly thinking they were contacting Dan Rather at CBS News. Others sent their correspondence to us because as one person put it, "I'm using this address because I have no other in which to express my opinion."
Dan Rather. How disgusting! I have never seen a grown man turn into a
whimpering puppy as Dan Rather did in his "interview" (very loosely used)
with Sodom, when Sodom said he wanted "you, Mr. Rather," to be the moderator
of his debate with President Bush. It was just sickening to watch Rather
lap that bull shit up as long as Sodom would feed it to him. Sodom showed
that Rather was a rug to be tread upon and Sodom demonstrated over and over
that he could do it at will and Rather would just suck it all up.
Sodom demonstrated that he is far more intelligent than Rather in most
things, including conducting an interview. He set you up Dan, and used you
like a whore, and discarded you immediately after he finished playing with
you. But before he tossed Dan aside, he made sure Dan included the items
and the methods that he wanted to transmit. Dan didn't conduct that
"interview", Sodom played Dan like a fiddle. Dan came off as a pawn, a
fool, glad to be licking the boots of a tyrant.
I have engraved in my mind the goofy expression Dan had when Sodom stroked
him. You could see the ooze of self elation, pride, power and the "mountain
top" overtake his "strong" principles of good journalism. It is clear that
if Dan Rather and CBS ever knew the principles of good journalism (truth,
unbiased opinion, respect, etc.), you have long ago re-written those
principles to match your own very one-sided liberal crafted "principles".
And today comes an example of your interpretation of "good journalistic
principles". Without any notification, you substituted a voice of your own
creation for Sodom's translator. "Sure! There is no need to let anyone
know, after all, they (the viewers) are so stupid they don't need to know.
Rather knows what's best for them. CBS knows what's best."
Well gentlemen, that is the sole reason that the voting public is flocking
to FOX by the score. We are insulted by your dishing out what you think we
should know rather than what is news. For example, did you even consider
running a piece about ANY demonstration in FAVOR of our troops and their
efforts in the mid east? "Well certainly not! That is against our beliefs!
The public doesn't want this!" The bottom line? I am personally insulted
by Dan and your politically correct "news". I am embarrassed that Dan
cowered before Sodom and took it upon himself to be an American lap-dog for
Sodom.
LONG LIVE FOX NEWS!!!
PS If Dan is your idea of a reputable news man, why won't you let him go on
FOX and answer a few real questions, not Larry Kings equally warped
softballs.

You are right! The function of the media is to serve the American people as an independent body of information. It is not to provide our government with confirmation of their policies. This is what makes Democracy great. I agree that your inteview should be independent of the White House.
I support the War, I support our troups, but I will not undermine Democracy by accepting the view that we cannot hear the enemy speak. We are getting into a hell worse than Viet Nam, and we should have all the information we need to make the determination.
Although, I voted for President Bush, I do not yet understand what is causing him to be so determine on this War against Saddam Hussein.
